My Story
Hi, I'm Paulina. I'm a certified results-oriented nutrition, fitness & life coach, a physique athlete and an action-taker. I teach people how to transform their bodies and their minds; taking care of their nutrition, training and mindset to feel, look and perform good.
How everything started
I always liked being active and practicing sports. When I was in middle school in Mexico, I was obsessed with Madonna arms and the super toned physique she had. I did everything I thought was the right thing to get that look but nothing seemed to work.
When I moved to the United States, I practiced hot yoga and HIIT classes that kept me in very good shape, but I was tired all the time. I never liked going to the gym. I was afraid that lifting heavy weights would get me that bulky and thick look. I thought that cardio and diets were the only option to get the physique I really wanted.
I remember spending all nights watching videos about trendy diets and trying every advice from social media "influencers" that led to changing all my habits and my relationship with food. I forgot how to eat properly, skipped meals and continued overtraining and taking my body to its limits.
I never thought that losing my period was anything to be worried about. Because my body was under so much stress caused by overtraining and under-eating and little by little, I started experiencing other issues like bloating, inflammation, insomnia, fatigue, brain fog, hormone dysfunction and anxiety.
I literally felt that I was going to die.
That was the moment where I hit rock bottom. I was ready to actually listen to what my body was desperately trying to tell me.
I sought help, went with a functional medicine specialist and hired a fitness coach. I realized that, because of the extreme dieting I did and how drastically changes my eating patters, I had developed food intolerances, one of those was wheat and gluten.
The good thing was that was more motivated to recover. During my recovery I learned that food is fuel and information that our bodies need to perform at their best and that each one of us is unique, that genetics play a very important role on how we look and feel and that everything is connected to our second brain: our gut. I learned to listen and reconnect with my body and I was introduced to weight-lifting and bodybuilding which, not only helped me to change the way my body looks, but also transformed my mind and spirit.
I developed a true passion for weight-lifting, wellness and science-based nutrition and I became a certified nutrition and fitness coach. As a health coach, I'm deeply focused on inspiring, mentoring and supporting my clients’ goals while taking care of their nutrition, training and mindset health.
